This Week's Recommended Watches: Faith, Resistance, and the Many Faces of Asian America
Hello and welcome back to the blog!
This week we're stepping away from our own research to spotlight two videos from other creators that speak directly to the conversations we've been having here. Both pieces tackle themes we've explored before religion, prejudice, and the long, often overlooked history of Asian communities in the United States but from perspectives and formats outside our own project. We think they're worth your time, and we hope they spark the same reflections they did for us.
1. The Asian & Abrahamic Religions: A Divine Encounter in America
This documentary trailer examines how Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, and Jainism are practiced and perceived in the United States, placing them in dialogue with the Abrahamic traditions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam). It explores how these communities confront prejudice and stereotypes, and how mutual understanding can be built across deep religious divides a theme that connects closely to our own post on Asian religions in America.
2. Asian Americans Have A Long History Of Activism In The US
